Apple Pay provides a secure and seamless payment method that can be used in-app, in-store, and on the web. Apple Pay uses Tokenization technology to securely store payment information in users' Apple Pay compatible devices and confirms payments through Touch ID or Face ID. If you implement Apple Pay in Europe, it is compliant with PSD2 SCA (Strong Customer Authentication) requirements.
When users select Apple Pay, a payment form is displayed where they can choose their bank card and provide contact information and shipping address. Then, users are prompted to authenticate the payment through Face ID or Touch ID.
Payers can only use Apple Pay as a payment option when the following conditions are met:
- Using Apple Pay compatible devices.
- Using Safari browser when paying on the web.
- Located in countries or regions where Apple Pay is available
- Have added an existing bank card to their Apple Pay wallet. See more details in How to set up Apple Pay
