An authorized payment can either be captured (funds are sent to the merchant's account) or voided (the merchant decides to reject the payment for certain reasons, such as high-risk fraud).
Please note that for transactions that have already been captured, payment cancellation is not possible. In this case, the merchant should initiate a refund to return the funds to the shopper. Capture, void, and refund are collectively known as modifications because they modify the status of an authorized payment request.
